The cycling event around the lake Vättern in Sweden is held in mid-June every year. Nördlich der Halbinsel "Capo de Gata" erheben sich die Berge der "Sierra Alhamilla" auf 1500 m. Die Flanken der Gebirgsmassive sind kahl und nur hier und da von einigen spärlichen Büschen bewachsen. Cabo De Gata
"Cabo De Gata" ist eine als Naturpark ausgewiesene Halbinsel im Südosten Spaniens. Wegen des sehr warmen und trockenen Klimas ist die Vegetation für europäische Verhältnisse einzigartig. Die Küstenlinie des "Cabo de Gata" ist zerklüftet, das Hinterland ist bergig mit vulkanischem Ursprung. Am Rand des Naturparks sind weite Flächen mit Tomatenplantagen bedeckt, dem sogenannten "Mar Plastico" :-)) "Cabo de Gata" liegt nahe der Wüste von Tabernas und wurde bei einigen Filmen (z.B. "Indiana Jones" u. "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod") als Drehort verwendet. "Cabo De Gata" is a peninsula, that is stated as a nature reserve in the southeast of Spain. Because of the very warm and dry climate the vegetation is unique for European circumstances. The coastal line of the "Cabo de Gata" is cleft, the hinterland is mountainous with volcanic origin. On the edge of the nature reserve wide surfaces are covered with tomato plantations, so-called "Mar Plastico" :-)) "Cabo de Gata" is near the desert of Tabernas and was used by some films (e.g. "Indiana Jones" u. Serra de Tramuntana
Das Tramuntana-Gebirge ist ein Leckerbissen für Hardcore-Radler! :-) Die Tagestour betrug 165 km mit mehr als 3000 Höhenmetern. Mehrere Berggipfel waren zu erobern. Nie zuvor radelte Manfred 3000 Hm an einem Tag. Die Mühen werden mit einer phantastischen Landschaft belohnt. Nachdem der höchste Berg Mallorcas, Puig Major, auf 880 m Höhe überwunden ist, bekommt man einen herrlichen Blick über den See Embassament de Cúber. Dieser See liegt 750 m über dem Meerespiegel des nahen Mittelmeeres und dient als Trinkwasserspeicher Mallorcas. Beim Anblick wird verständlich, warum die UNESCO die Serra de Tramuntana als Welterbe erklärte. The Tramuntana mountains are a goody for hardcore-cyclists! :-) The day tour amounted to 165 kms with more than accumulating 3,000 meters of height. Several mountaintops are to be conquered. Never before Manfred bicycled a difference in altitude of 3,000 m during one single day. The efforts are recompensed by a fantastic scenery. After overcoming the highest mountain of Majorca, Puig major, at 880 m height, you get a marvelous look over the lake Embassament De Cúber. This lake lies 750 meters above the level of the nearby Mediterranean Sea and is serving as Majorca's drinking water reservoir. Randa a Cura
Cura ist ein einzelstehender Berg in der Mitte Mallorcas. Er erhebt sich steil über die mallorquinische Tiefebene und ist aus allen Richtungen schon von weitem gut zu erkennen. An seinem Fuße liegt das Dorf Randa und auf einer Höhe von 543 Metern befindet sich das Kloster Santuari de Cura. Auf der Spitze des Berges befindet sich auch eine ballonartige Radaranlage, die von weitem deutlicher erkennbar ist als das Kloster. Cura is a single standing mountain in the center of Majorca. It rises steeply above the Majorcan plain and can be seen from all directions from afar. At its foot is the village of Randa and at an altitude of 543 meters there is the Monastery Sanctuary of Cura. Pollença y Cap Formentor
Der Ort Pollença, an den nördlichen Ausläufern des Tramuntana-Gebirges gelegen, besitzt eine historische Altstadt mit engen, verwinkelten Gassen und alten maurischen Bruchsteinhäusern. Eine Besonderheit sind die 365 Stufen der Pollença-Treppe hoch zur Spitze des Kalvarienberges. Cap Formentor ist die nordöstlichste Spitze der Halbinsel Formentor, die man von Port de Pollença aus erreicht. Die zerklüftete Steilküste bietet viele imposante Ausblicke. Am Cap steht ein 1892 erbauter Leuchtturm. The locality Pollença, situated in the north of the Tramuntana mountains, owns a historical Old Town with narrow, winding lanes and old moorish break stone houses. A specific feature are the 365 steps of the Pollença stair high to the top of the Kalvarien-mountain. Cap Formentor is the most northeast point of the peninsula Formentor, which you reach from Port de Pollença. The cleft steep coast offers many imposing views. Lange afstand fietsen • Startort/location: Merselo, Limburg | • Startzeit/date: 20:00, 23.08.2014 Brevet "Rondje Startpunten" ist ein Radmarathon auf einem Rundkurs mit 400 km Länge. Das Radsport-Event wird von Euraudax Randonnée Nederland veranstaltet. Organisator ist Toerclub Swolland. Der Marathon bietet 4 verschiedene Startpunkte, die auf der Rundstrecke verteilt sind. Zielort ist jeweils der gewählte Startort. Brevet "Rondje Startpunten" is a bicycle marathon on a round course with 400 kms in length. The bicycle-sporting event is hosted by Euraudax Randonnée Nederland. Organizer is Toerclub Swolland. The marathon offers 4 different start places, which are spread over the round course.
