7. Große Weserrunde 2016
• Startort/location: Rinteln, Weserbergland | • Startzeit/date: 5:30-8:14, 03.09.2016 Die "Große Weserrunde" ist ein erlebnisreicher Radmarathon auf einer landschaftlich reizvollen Route entlang der Weser und durch das Weserbergland. Die 300 km Route führt über Hameln - Beverungen - Hannoversch Münden - Höxter - Brevörde - Aerzen wieder zurück nach Rinteln. In diesem Jahr hatte die Weserrunde 483 Teilnehmer. Gestartet wurde in Blöcken zu je 15 Radlern. Den ganzen Tag lang gab es herrlichstes Radlwetter! ... und Organisation und Verpflegung war mindestens so gut wie das Wetter! Schon mal den Termin für die nächste Runde vormerken: 8. Große Weserrunde am 02.09.2017. Gut, dass Manfred diesmal aufrecht radelte, ...die Polizei stoppte Liegeradler! Radsport-Ausdauertraining im Weserbergland mit Freunden und Kollegen von Lenze. Lenze ist eine Firma, die Automatisierungssysteme und Industrieantriebe entwickelt und produziert. Balaton-Couch
Zielsetzung des letzten Radl-Projektes war ein leichtes Highracer-Liegerad für bergige Strecken. Der Rahmen hat die Form eines Besenstiels. Verglichen mit gebogenen Rahmen, vereint der gerade Stock-Rahmen besser Steifigkeit mit geringem Gewicht. Der Rahmen wurde von der ungarischen Firma Szatuna in der Nähe des Plattensees produziert. Leider ertrug der Rahmen Manfreds schweren Körper nicht dauerhaft. Nach nicht einmal einem Jahr brach der Rahmen beim Befahren eines Kopfstein gepflasterten Weges durch. :-( Target of the last bicycle-project was a light high-racer recumbent bike for hilly tours. The frame has the form of a stick. Compared to curved frames, the stick frame combines better the features of high stiffness with low weight. The stick was produced by Szatuna near the Hungarian lake Balaton. Unfortunately, the Balaton-Couch did not long-lasting suffer Manfred's heavy body. Brevet 600 km "Die Acht von Lohne" - 2016 (Germany, Netherlands)
• Startort/location: Lohne, Emsland | • Startzeit/date: 8:00, 25.06.2016 „Die Acht von Lohne“ ist ein 600 km langer Radmarathon, der als Brevet geradeltt wird. Die Route hat die Form einer Acht (daher der Name). Start, Ziel, sowie die 300km-Kontrollstelle ist der Ort Lohne. Der erste Kreis der Acht führt durch die Niederlande, der zweite Kreis durch Deutschland. Während des Radelns des ersten 300km-Kreises regnete es fast ununterbrochen. Die Manfred hatte Reifenpannen. Ein Sturz veranlasste ihn dann, den Radmarathon nach den ersten 300km abzubrechen. „Die Acht von Lohne“ is a cycling marathon with a route length of 600 km, running as a brevet. The route has the shape of the figure eight. (thus the name -> acht=eight). Start, finish, and the 300km-control-point is the place Lohne. The first circle of the eight leads through the Netherlands, the second circle through Germany. During pedaling the first 300km-circle it rained almost continuously. Manfred had flat tires. Brevet 300 km "Grachtentour" - 2016 (Germany, Netherlands)
• Startort/location: Lohne, Emsland | • Startzeit/date: 8:00, 21.05.2016 "Grachtentour" ist ein Radmarathon mit einer Streckenlänge von 300 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird. Die Radltour führt durch die deutsche Grafschaft Bentheim und durch die Province Overijssel in den Niederlanden. Dieses Mal war Manfreds Grachtentour bereits nach 170 km zu Ende. Auf einer gepflasterten Ortsdurchfahrt in Overijssel brach der Carbon-Rahmen der Balaton-Couch durch. Nur Fußmarsch, Bahn- und Busfahrt führten zum Zielpunkt. "Grachtentour" (Canal tour) is a cycling marathon with a route length of 300 km, running as a brevet. The bicycle tour leads through the German county Bentheim and through the Province Overijssel of the Netherlands. This time, Manfred's canal tour was already after 170 kms to an end. On a cobbled thoroughfare in Overijssel the carbon frame of the Balaton couch broke through. Start-Eskorte für weltreisenden Josef
Am 16.04.2016 startete der langjährige Arbeitskollege und Freund Josef ein Motorrad-Abenteuer durch Zentral- und Südost-Asien. Josef wird 19 Länder durchqueren und eine Strecke von 35.000 km zurücklegen. Sein Track führt entlang der Seidenstraße von der Türkei über den Iran, Turkmenistan, Usbekistan bis nach Kirgisien. Weiterhin wird er die Mongolei, das Altai Gebirge, Kasachstan, China, Pakistan, Nepal, Indien und Myanmar erleben. Im Dezember 2016 wird er Thailand erreichen.
