Brevet 600 km "De Acht van Lohne" - 2014 (Germany, Netherlands)
• Startort/location: Lohne, Emsland | • Startzeit/date: 8:00, 14.06.2014 „De Acht van Lohne“ ist ein Radmarathon über eine Streckenlänge von 600 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird. Die Route hat die Form einer Acht (daher der Name). Start, Ziel, sowie die 300km-Kontrollstelle ist der Ort Lohne. Der erste Kreis der Acht führt durch die Niederlande, der zweite Kreis durch Deutschland. Nach Finish der Tour bei windigem aber trockenem Wetter, besichtigte Manfred das Kloster Bentlage sowie die alten Salinen und Gradierwerke in Bentlage. „De Acht van Lohne“ is a cycling marathon with a route length of 600 km, running as a brevet. The route has the shape of the figure eight. (thus the name -> acht=eight). Start, finish, and the 300km-control-point is the place Lohne. The first circle of the eight leads through the Netherlands, the second circle through Germany. Tour a Petra
Petra ist ein kleines Landstädtchen auf Mallorca. Die rechtwinklig verlaufenden Straßen sind von alten Häusern aus goldbraunem Bruchstein (Marès) gesäumt. Petra wirkt verschlafen und fern jeder Hektik. Die Cafés und Restaurants am Platz Fra Juniper Serra werden von Radfahrern gern genutzt. Fra Juniper Serra war ein Mönch aus dem Städtchen, der vor 250 Jahren in die Welt zog und unter anderem die Stadt San Francisco gründete. Petra is a small land town on Majorca. The orthogonally arranged roads are lined by old houses from golden-brown break stone (Marès). Petra looks sleepy and far from every hectic rush. The cafés and restaurants at the place Fra Juniper Serra are used with pleasure by cyclists. Alcúdia
Profi-Radsportler trainieren schon seit Jahren im Frühjahr auf Mallorca . Die Infrastruktur der Insel hat sich auf Radsportler eingestellt. Auch immer mehr Hobbyradler entdecken Mallorca als idealen Saisonstart. Kirsten, Bernd, Marcello, Wolfgang und Manfred führen im März 2014 ihr Frühjahrstraining auf Mallorca durch. Das Trainingscamp befindet sich an der Nordostküste der Insel, in Alcúdia. Die Rennräder für die Touren werden in Alcúdia von Max Hürzelers Radsport-Station bereitgestellt. Professional cyclists already train for years in the spring on Majorca. The infrastructure of the island has been adapted to cyclists. More and more hobby cyclists discover Mallorca as a perfect start of the season. Kirsten, Marcello, Wolfgang, Bernd and Manfred perform their spring training in Mallorca in March 2014. The training camp is located on the north-east coast of the island, in Alcúdia. Voltors negres
Es ist überraschend, dass auf Mallorca Geier leben. Die Mönchsgeier mit fast 3 Meter Flügelspannweite brüten an der steilen Felsküste. Manfred besuchte die Naturschutzorganisation BVCF, die versucht den Lebensraum der größten europäischen Greifvögel zu erhalten. Um die Geier zu Fotografieren, wäre ein Teleobjektiv erforderlich gewesen. Manfreds einfache Klick-Klack-Kamera reichte nur für sehr schlechte Fotos. :-( Vor der Rückfahrt wurde der Hügel des Klosters Santa Magdalena in der Nähe von Inca erklettert. :-) It is astonishing that on Majorca vultures live. The monk vultures with nearly 3 meters wingspan are breeding on the steeply cliff coast. Manfred visited the nature conservation organization BVCF, it tries to conserve the living space of the biggest European grab birds. To take a photo of the vultures, a tele-lens would have been necessary.
