Brevet 400km Weserbergland - 2013
Startort/location: Großenwieden, Weserbergland, Startzeit/date: 7:00 01.06.2013 Das Wetter eignete sich nicht besonders zum Fotografieren. Es war nebelig und es regnete fast die gesamte Zeit. Viele Radwege entlang der Weser und der Fulda waren wegen Hochwasser überschwemmt und nicht befahrbar. Manfred startete den Radmarathon mit seiner neuen HighRacer Couch. Seit 10 Monaten hatte er nicht mehr liegend geradelt. Die Beinmuskulatur war die Belastung nicht mehr gewohnt und reagierte mehrfach mit heftigen Krämpfen. Manfred schaffte das Finish gerade noch innerhalb der offiziellen Wertungszeit. The weather was not well suited to take photos. It was foggy and there was raining almost the whole time. Many cycle tracks along the rivers Weser and Fulda were flooded because of high water and not usable. Manfred started at the bicycle marathon with his new HighRacer couch. Since 10 months he had cycled no more recumbent. The leg musculature was used to the load no more and reacted several times with violent cramps. 5. Große Weserrunde 2014
Der Radmarathon "5. Große Weserrunde" lockte in diesem Jahr 285 Teilnehmer nach Rinteln. Im Nebel ging es auf die gut 300 km lange, landschaftlich reizvolle Strecke entlang der Weser und durch das Weserbergland. Die Fernsicht war dieses Mal etwas getrübt und es gab ein paar Regentropfen. Es war aber fast windstill und die Lufttemperatur war ideal zum radeln. Organisation und Verpflegung waren auch wieder erstklassig. Wer alle Verpflegungsangebote genossen hat, dessen Körpergewicht hat auf der Marathonstrecke sicherlich zugenommen statt abgenommen. :-) This year the bicycle marathon '5. Große Weserrunde' attracted 285 participants to Rinteln. In the fog it went on the 300 kms long, scenic attractive route along the river Weser and through the Weser Uplands. This time the view was clouded a little bit and there were a few raindrops. However, it was almost calm and the air temperature was ideal to cycle. Organization and catering were also high-class again. Brevet 600 km "De Acht van Lohne" - 2014 (Germany, Netherlands)
• Startort/location: Lohne, Emsland | • Startzeit/date: 8:00, 14.06.2014 „De Acht van Lohne“ ist ein Radmarathon über eine Streckenlänge von 600 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird. Die Route hat die Form einer Acht (daher der Name). Start, Ziel, sowie die 300km-Kontrollstelle ist der Ort Lohne. Der erste Kreis der Acht führt durch die Niederlande, der zweite Kreis durch Deutschland. Nach Finish der Tour bei windigem aber trockenem Wetter, besichtigte Manfred das Kloster Bentlage sowie die alten Salinen und Gradierwerke in Bentlage. „De Acht van Lohne“ is a cycling marathon with a route length of 600 km, running as a brevet. The route has the shape of the figure eight. (thus the name -> acht=eight). Start, finish, and the 300km-control-point is the place Lohne. The first circle of the eight leads through the Netherlands, the second circle through Germany. Tour a Petra
Petra ist ein kleines Landstädtchen auf Mallorca. Die rechtwinklig verlaufenden Straßen sind von alten Häusern aus goldbraunem Bruchstein (Marès) gesäumt. Petra wirkt verschlafen und fern jeder Hektik. Die Cafés und Restaurants am Platz Fra Juniper Serra werden von Radfahrern gern genutzt. Fra Juniper Serra war ein Mönch aus dem Städtchen, der vor 250 Jahren in die Welt zog und unter anderem die Stadt San Francisco gründete. Petra is a small land town on Majorca. The orthogonally arranged roads are lined by old houses from golden-brown break stone (Marès). Petra looks sleepy and far from every hectic rush. The cafés and restaurants at the place Fra Juniper Serra are used with pleasure by cyclists.
