• Wegen der zahlreichen Weihnachtsmärkte in Dresden wird die Stadt oft als deutsche Weihnachtshauptstadt bezeichnet. In der inneren Neustadt von Dresden befinden sich 2 Weihnachtsmärkte und in der Altstadt sind sogar 5 verschiedenen Weihnachtsmärkte. Am berühmtesten ist der Striezelmarkt. Der Striezelmarkt ist älteste Weihnachtsmarkt Deutschlands und findet in diesem Jahr zum 585. Mal statt. • Because of the numerous Christmas markets in Dresden, the city is known as the German Christmas capital. There are 2 Christmas markets in the inner Neustadt of Dresden and 5 different Christmas markets in the Old Town. Most famous is the Striezelmarkt. • Pfunds Molkerei, gegründet 1880, gilt als der schönste Milchladen der Welt. Der Milchladen ist vollständig mit handgemalten Fliesen von Villeroy & Boch ausgestattet und wurde 1998 ins Guinness-Buch der Rekorde aufgenommen. Er ist eine der Touristenattraktionen der Stadt Dresden. • Pfund's dairy, founded in 1880, is considered the most beautiful milk shop in the world. The milk shop is completely equipped with hand-painted tiles from Villeroy & Boch and was included in the Guinness Book of Records in 1998. Kleinenbremen - Eisenerzbergwerk
• Kleinenbremen ist ein Ort im nördlichen Weserbergland. Der Ort grenzt östlich an die Stadt Rinteln. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung stammt aus dem Jahr 1181. Offiziell seit 1835 wird in Kleinenbremen Eisenerz abgebaut. In den ersten Jahren erfolgte der Erz-Abbau nur im Tagebau (Rote Klippe). Ab 1881 wurde das Eisenerz dann auch untertage gefördert (Grube Wohlverwahrt). Inzwischen ist das Bergwerk unrentabel und die Eisenerz-Förderung wurde eingestellt. Das Bergwerk ist aber für Besucher weiterhin geöffnet und erlaubt den Zugang in das Innere des Gebirges. • Kleinenbremen is a place in the northern Weser Uplands. The village is bordered to the east by the town of Rinteln. The first documentary mention dates back to 1181. Officially since 1835, iron ore has been mined in Kleinenbremen. In the first years, ore mining took place only in opencast mining (red cliff) . From 1881, iron ore was then mined underground (Wohlverwahrt mine). In the meantime, the mine is unprofitable and iron ore production has ceased. Bad Pyrmont - Dunsthöhle
• Die Dunsthöhle in Bad Pyrmont ist die gemauerte Grotte einer Gasquelle. Aus der Quelle entweichen beträchtliche Mengen an Kohlendioxid (CO2). Um 1700 wurden Arbeiter in dem damaligen Steinbruch ohnmächtig. Verursacht wurde die Ohnmacht durch das aus dem Gestein ausströmende Gas. Wegen erwarteter Heilwirkung baute Dr. Philipp Seip im Jahr 1720 für Kurgäste eine Grotte. Da das Gas ein größeres spezifisches Gewicht als die normale Luft hat, bildet sich über dem Boden der Grotte eine bis 2,40 m hohe Schicht aus Kohlendioxid. Zu Seips Kurgästen gehörten sogar der preußische König Friederich der Große und der russische Zar Peter der Große! Heute wird die Kohlendioxid-Quellgastherapie für folgende Indikationen genutzt: Störungen der peripheren Durchblutung, Hypertonie und Coronarinsuffizienz, allergische Erkrankungen (Asthma, Ekzem). Anlässlich des durch CO2 verursachten Klimawandels sollte diese Quelle so schnell wie möglich dicht verschlossen werden. • The vapours cave in Bad Pyrmont is the brick grotto of a gas fountain. The fountain releases considerable amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2). By 1700 workers in the former quarry fainted. The powerlessness was caused by the gas flowing out of the rock. Because of expected healing effects Dr. Philipp Seip built in 1720 a grotto for spa guests. Since the gas has a greater specific weight than the normal air, forms above the bottom of the grotto up to 2.40 m high layer of carbon dioxide. Seip's spa guests even included the King of Prussia and the Russian Tsar Peter the Great! Today, carbon dioxide source gas therapy is used for the following indications: disorders of the peripheral circulation, hypertension and coronary insufficiency, allergic diseases (asthma, eczema). 10. Große Weserrunde 2019
• Startort/location: Rinteln, Weserbergland | • Startzeit/date: 5:30 - 8:30 Sa 31.08.2019 • Zum 10ten mal wurde im Weserbergland der Radmarathon "Große Weserrunde" zum Highlight der Radler. 548 Teilnehmer erzeugten bei der diesjährigen Jubiläumsrunde einen neuen Besucherrekord. Manfred startete um 5:50 mit seiner Couch (Performer HighRacer). Nachdem der Nebel sich verzogen hatte, rollte die Couch den ganzen Tag als behagliche Sonnenliege durch die reizvolle Landschaft entlang der Weser. Die Behaglichkeit wurde nur an einigen Steigungen unterbrochen: In den Heinsener Klippen riss die Antriebskette und bei Glesse erzwang die körperliche Anstrengung in der Sonnenhitze eine Pause im Schatten. An den Verpflegungsstationen wurde für das leibliche Wohl gut gesorgt. Nahrung und Getränke machten die kurzen Aufenthalte zum Genuss. Pasta und Weizenbier im Ziel sorgten für einen entspannten Abschluss. Vielen Dank an alle Beteiligten. Wer die "Große Weserrunde" radeln möchte, um sein Körpergewicht zu reduzieren, der darf sich nicht zu lange an den Verpflegungsstationen aufhalten. Mein Körpergewicht auf der nächtlichen Heimfahrt war sicherlich erheblich höher als beim morgendlichen Start :o) Ich freue mich schon auf die "11. Große Weserrunde". • For the 10th time, in the Weser uplands the bicycle marathon "Große Weserrunde" became the highlight of cycling. 548 participants generated a new participant record at this year's anniversary round. Manfred started at 5:50 with his couch (Performer HighRacer). After the fog had cleared, the couch rolled the whole day as a comfortable sun lounger through the charming landscape along the river Weser. The comfort was interrupted only on some slopes: In the Heinsen cliffs the drive chain broke and at Glesse the physical exertion in the heat of the sun forced a break in the shade. At the food stations, the well-being was well taken care of. Food and drinks made the short stays a pleasure. Pasta and wheat beer in the finish made for a relaxed conclusion. Thanks to everyone involved. If you want to cycle "Große Weserrunde" to reduce your body weight, you must not spend too much time at the food stations. My body weight on the evening drive home was certainly considerably higher than at the morning start :o) I'm looking forward to the "11. Schloss Wendlinghausen
Schloss Wendlinghausen wurde von 1613-1615 von Hilmar von Münchhausen, dem gleichnamigen Sohn des Erbauers von Schloss Münchhausen in Schwöbber, im Stil der Weserrenaissance gebaut. Schloss Wendlinghausen befindet sich bis heute im Besitz von Nachfahren des Erbauers, nunmehr der Familie von Reden. Nach umfassenden Restaurierungsarbeiten in den Jahren 2001 und 2003 wird das Schloss heute für kulturelle Veranstaltungen und Hochzeiten genutzt. Alle 2 Jahre findet dort die Show der Kaltblutpferde "PferdeStark" statt. Castle Wendlinghausen became built from in 1613-1615 from Hilmar of Münchhausen, the eponymouis son of the builder of castle Münchhausen in Schwöbber, in the style of the Weser Renaissance. Castle Wendlinghausen is still owned by descendants of the builder, now the family of Reden. After extensive restoration work in 2001 and 2003, the castle is now used for cultural events and weddings.
