What beautiful, mammoth doors surrounded by the Archangels. It overwhelms me to think how many hours of precision, etching, carving, molding, etc., went into creating each angel to make a precise fit around the arches of each door. Once again, dearest Manfred, you did a splendid job of capturing all the minute details of these fine works of art. On sweltering hot days like the world has been experiencing this summer, I couldn't begin to enjoy--or appreciate--the magnificent beauty of the architecture, carvings, and statuary. And yet, I'm sitting in my delightfully cool den enjoying all this beauty--close up. The only things I'm missing are the extreme heat and the maddening crowds of people fighting to see the same beautiful Cathedral.
