Yes dear Lara, it is a great place. Especially because there are no cars allowed! So you can cycle, walk or sit outside without traffic noise and stink! :-)))
(Cont. . .2) The rolling countryside and the huge farms stretching for miles were such a breathtaking sight. If you chose to open your windows as you traveled the autobahn, you quickly changed your mind. It truly was a "breathtaking" moment--since the farmers were applying not only the manure, but the urine as well. While this technique enriches the soil greatly, it surely isn't a pleasant odor to inhale for any length of time. I don't think this is done anymore in the States or in Canada. I've often wished I could have brought back some of that very rich soil so my flowers would be just as large and beautiful as those in Germany and the other countries. Flower boxes are very rarely seen in the USA or Canada--unless you are traveling in the deep south (i.e. New Orleans). With the beautiful styles of buildings, along with the breathtaking flower boxes, one feels like they are in a fairy tale. Thanks for the trip down "memory lane" this morning, dearest Manfred. Luv ya! Sweet Caroline
