Thüster Berg - Bockshorn, Kansteinklippen
• Der Thüster Berg ist ein etwa 440 m hoher Höhenzug des Weserberglandes. Mit seiner Hauptkuppe, dem Kanstein, erstreckt er sich auf etwa 7 km Länge östlich des Ith. Der Thüster Berg ist eine Auffaltung aus Kalkstein. Die auffällige Felsformation Bockshorn wird gern von Steilwandkletteren genutzt. An der steil abfallenden Nordflanke befinden sich, zumeist im Wald versteckt, mehrere Kalksteinklippen. Der Thüster Berg ist dicht von Wald, insbesondere von Buchenwald, bestanden. Es gedeihen unter anderem auch Birken und Kiefern. Auf der Hauptkuppe des Thüster Bergs, dem Kanstein, steht der Aussichtsturm Lönsturm. • The Thüster Berg is an approximately 440 m high ridge in the Weser Uplands. • Thüster Berg ist ein etwa 440 m hoher Höhenzug des Weserberglandes. Der Höhenzug erstreckt sich auf etwa 7 km Länge östlich des Ith. Der Thüster Berg ist eine Auffaltung aus Kalkstein. Am Westhang liegt der seit Jahrzehnten verlassene alte Kalksteinbruch Bockshorn. Die Betriebsgebäude des alten Steinbruchs sind nur noch Ruinen und von der Natur erobert. • Thüster Berg is an approximately 440 m high ridge in the Weser Uplands. Kükenbruch - ehemalige Destillations- und Bunkeranlage für Kraftstoffe
• Während des 2. Weltkrieges wurde die Kraftstoffherstellung für die Armee auf zahlreiche kleine Anlagen verteilt, die in Steinbrüchen Deckung fanden. Diese Destillationsanlagen bekamen den Tarnnamen „Ofen“. Die Anlage in Kükenbruch wurde „Ofen I & II“ genannt und wurde von der Raffenerie Nerag betrieben. Aus dem angelieferten Rohöl wurden durch Erhitzen in Röhrenöfen Ottokraftstoff und Dieselöl gewonnen. Die Doppelanlage in Kükenbruch war darauf ausgelegt monatlich 6.000 t Rohmaterial zu verarbeiten. Aus dieser Menge gewann man ca. 700 t Benzin und ca. 2.000 t Diesel. Neben der Anlage verlaufen die Gleise der Extertalbahn, so dass die Anlieferung und der Abtransport durch die Eisenbahn erfolgen konnte. Nach Kriegsende wurden die Bunker gesprengt. Die Betriebsgebäude wurde zeitweise als Wohnungen genutzt, sind aber nun seit Jahren verlassen. Die Extertalbahn wurde stillgelegt. Die Bahngleise sind aber noch mit Draisinen befahrbar. • During World War II, fuel production for the army was divided among numerous small plants, which found shelter in quarries. These distillation systems were given the code name "Oven". The plant in Kükenbruch was called "Ofen I & II" and was operated by the Nerag refinery. Externsteine
• Die Externsteine sind eine Felsengruppe in Lippe, Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die Felsen sind aus Sandstein und entstanden durch Meeresablagerung. Vor 100 bis 135 Millionen Jahren befand sich hier ein kreidezeitliches Flachmeer. Noch heute findet man in der Umgebung der Externsteine fossile Krebse, Muscheln und sogar Wasserlilien. Durch Erdplattenverschiebung wurden die ursprünglich flach liegenden Sandsteinfelsen senkrecht hochgedrückt. Das etwa 70 bis 100 Millionen Jahre alte Naturdenkmal war für unsere Vorfahren bereits während der Steinzeit von Bedeutung. Funde wie Stielspitzen, Feuersteingeräte, Klingen und Steinschlagplätze aus der Altsteinzeit beweisen, dass sich hier etwa 10.000 Jahre vor Christus bereits Menschen aufgehalten haben. Es wird angenommen, dass die Externsteine bereits frühgermanisch als heidnische Kultstätte genutzt wurde. Noch heute wirken die Externsteine als großer Besuchermagnet. ...und zahlreiche Radwege und längerer Routen wie die Römer-Lippe-Route oder der Teuto-Senne-Radweg bieten Radlern viele Anregungen für Ausflüge und Besichtigungen. • Externsteine are a rock stone group located in the district of Lippe, North-Rhine-Westphalia/Germany. The rocks came into existence by sandstone of marine deposit. Before 100 to 135 million years a chalk-temporal shallow sea was here. Still today in the surroundings one finds fossil cancers, shells and even water lilies. By earth plate movement the originally lying sandstone-rocks were pressed vertically high. Already for our forefathers during the Stone Age the about 70 to 100 million year old natural monument was of importance. Findings like tanged points, flint artefacts, blades and stone-chipping places from the Paleolithic age prove that here about 10,000 years before Christ already people stayed. It is assumed that the rock stone group already early-Germanic was used as a place of pagan worship. Still today Externsteine work as a big visitor's magnet. ...and numerous cycle tracks and longer routes like the Romans-Lippe-Route or the Teuto-Senne Bike Trail offer cyclists many suggestions for excursions and sightseeing.
