Rinteln - Altstadt

• Rinteln ist eine niedersächsische Stadt im Weserbergland. Rinteln liegt an der Weser und ist etwa 20 km von Hameln entfernt. Die Altstadt ist von zahlreichen Fachwerkhäusern geprägt. Im Mittelalter wurde die Stadt von einer Stadtmaurer umschlossen. In der Neuzeit wurde die Stadtmauer zur Festung ausgebaut. Von 1619 bis 1810 war Rinteln zudem Universitätsstadt.
In Rinteln gibt einen Fahrraddraisinen-Bahnhof. Die stillgelegte Extertal-Eisenbahnlinie ist mittels Draisinen nutzbar. Rinteln ist zudem Start und Ziel des Radmarathons "Große Weserrunde".

• Rinteln is a small town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located on the banks of the river Weser in the Weser Uplands, just 20 kilometers from Hamelin. The old town is picturesque affected by numerous half-timbered houses. In the middle ages Rinteln was surrounded by a town wall. In the modern ages the town wall was expanded and Rinteln became a fortress. From 1621 until 1810, Rinteln was the seat of Ernestina University.
Rinteln has a bicycle trolley station. The given up Extertal-railway is usable by bicycle trolleys. Additional Rinteln is start and finish of the cycling marathon "Große Weserrunde".
