Hameln - Altstadt

• Hamelin is a town on the river Weser in Lower Saxony, Germany.
The town is famous for the folk tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, a medieval story that tells of the rat-catcher and of the tragedy that befell the town in the thirteenth century: Hamelin lost all children of the town. The version written by the Brothers Grimm made it popular throughout the world. Although Hamelin has a fine medieval town with some remarkable buildings, the main tourist attraction is the tale of the Pied Piper. In summer Sundays, the tale is performed by actors in the town centre.

    Münsterkirche St.Bonifatius
The optical distortion or St.Bonifatius has tilted?

      It's only an optical distortion.
The church is so big and I had not enough distance to shoot the photo.
The wide angle produced some fish eye effect!

Manfred!

Yes, unfortunately, the vehicle is suitable only for very good roads.
A normal bicycle has one track. With one track you can make way to blow holes well.
The tricycle has 3 tracks (one track more than a car!).
With one of three wheels you meet a blow hole always! :o)

    Großehofstraße
Unfortunately, I don't know, how this method of building is called. In the Central Asia thus houses build now, sometimes fill with not burned brick from clay with straw.
Your old houses are very picturesque! They from a stone?

The construction method is called timber framing (German: Fachwerk [
The skeleton of the house exists of timber (that are the visible dark beams). The space was filled earlier with loam and later with bricks (these are the bright surfaces)
This construction method was used in Western Europe since the antiquity till the 19-th century.

Dear Lara, you see a barrage in the Weser river.
The barrages were already put on more than 1000 years ago to use the water power by mills!
So that the ships could pass the barrages, there were tow sluices. Only in the 18-th century the first right sluice was built in the Weser river.
On the right hand side you see a wall of a sluice :-)
