Bückeberg - Dinosaurierspuren

• Der Bückeberg ist ein bis 373 m hoher Höhenzug im Norden des Weserberglandes. Er liegt zwischen den Höhenzügen Harrl im Westen und dem Deister im Osten. Für Radler und Wanderer ist der Bückeberg mit seinem gut beschilderten Wegesystem ein echtes Erholungsparadies.
In den Jahren 2007 und 2008 wurden in einem Sandsteinbruch auf dem Bückeberg Dinosaurierspuren entdeckt. Etwa 2700 Fußabdrücke verschiedener Dinosaurierarten befinden sich auf dem Bückeberg. Die Fußabdrücke sind etwa 140 Millionen Jahre alt. Die Spuren zeigen, dass die Tiere im Familienverband ihren Weg zurücklegten, was das Sozialverhalten von Dinosauriern belegt. Dass die Spuren so gut konserviert wurden, liegt an einer schnellen Überlagerung der frischen Abdrücke durch Sturmsande.

• The Bückeberg is a mountain range up to 373 m high in the north of the Weser Uplands. It lies between the mountain ranges of Harrl in the west and the Deister in the east. For cyclists and hikers, the Bückeberg, with its well-signposted system of paths, is a real relaxation paradise.
In 2007 and 2008 dinosaur tracks were discovered in a sandstone quarry on the Bückeberg. There are around 2700 footprints of different dinosaur species on the Bückeberg. The footprints are about 140 million years old. The tracks show that the animals made their way in family groups, which proves the social behavior of dinosaurs. The fact that the tracks were so well preserved is due to rapid overlaying of the fresh imprints by storm sands.
