      Castles, manor houses, town halls and churches of the Renaissance period have been preserved in unusually high density, because the economy of the Weser region recovered only slowly from the consequences of the Thirty Years War.
      In the south of Germany (Bavaria) you can see no Renaissance buildings, because the Bavarians had enough money to transform their buildings to the later baroque style :-))
