Peterhof (Russian: Петерго́ф) is a town in the west of the city of Saint Petersburg on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland. In Peterhof is situated a series of palaces and gardens, laid out on the orders of Peter the Great, and sometimes called the "Russian Versailles".
Pity indeed! When I visited the Catharine Palace in St Petersburg time was limited as well, so could only see outside and gardens. Good reason to go back again some time!
