    I'm dreaming out loudly right now--as well as wishing. LOL! How grand it would be to have a large log cabin built close to one of the orchards. It's taken years of planning, layout, and design of all this magnificent farmland. There seems to be a proper place and purpose for every detail on these farms. The owners/farmers can be so very proud of their properties, as well as their years of accomplishments with their shares of this land. Your capture of this property, dearest Manfred, is outstanding. This would be so beautiful enlarged, framed, and hung above a fireplace. Photos of farms don't get any better than this! Right now, I'd love to run and roll in this gorgeous green velvet grass or rye--or whatever. It reminds me of my youthful days when my sister, brother, and I would spend hours running and rolling in the grass. There were no T-V's, video games, etc., in those "good, ole days".

    I pray, my dearest Manfred, this individual came out of this accident with only a few minor bruises. Coming upon a scene such as this one can certainly take all the joy out of what had been a very beautiful day in every way.

      The woman on the bicycle was not wearing a helmet and the head was injured by the impact on the asphalt street.

        Oh, dearest Manfred, I'm so sorry to hear this devastating news. Why, why, why? Do people read and hear about auto/bike accidents every day; and how injuries could be reduced dramatically had the individual only worn a safety helmet. If this lady continues to survive this accident, she will have a long road ahead of not only recovery, but months of therapy. Even though I don't know this lady, such an accident still upsets me. At least she can be thankful for the Intensive Care Units of today, as well as the various therapy programs in place to help one recover. I pray, with all the therapy programs available, as well as the support of all her family and loved ones, that she will fully recover. I've already included her in my prayers; and I plan to visit my favorite little on-line chapel and light a candle on her behalf.

    Spectacular!  Magnificent!  Breathtaking!  My Mom used to have one of these gorgeous shrubs in our front yard. Ours was the fuchia color. It's one of those shrubs you wish would stay in bloom the entire summer. I also planted one of these in my next-door neighbor's garden; and it lasted for eight years. Unfortunately, two years ago, we had an extremely harsh winter with unusually sub-zero temperatures and the shrub was too fragile for such conditions. If I'm able to get to a good garden center within the next several weeks, I'd like to find one to replace the dead one. It was the perfect shrub for that particular space.

         I surely missed the mark on that one. I thought this shrub was "Weigela". A closer look at the Peach Bush and you can see the blossoms are fuller with more "puff" to them. I never expected you to acknowledge all my comments, dearest Manfred. I'm so grateful, nonetheless, that you do take the time to comment and/or answer some of my silly questions. So many of your breathtaking captures are of an historical nature, geographical, architectural, floral, etc. I've always been intrigued by the Old World, as well as the variety of cultures in Europe. I'm so thankful you are willing to share information with me about castles, architecture, geographical areas, as well as customs and traditions. These facts are much more interesting coming from an individual rather than a book. I not only enjoy viewing your outstanding (Cont. . .2)

          (Cont. . .2) albums, but I always learn something from them. Once again, I have to thank you for sharing the breathtaking album of "The Smell of Spring in Italy". I picked a great day to peruse and daydream with this album. Around midnight Sunday is when I began looking at the beautiful flowers, landscape, etc. Several hours later, I ventured upstairs to my kitchen for a few munchies. While waiting for something to heat in the microwave, I decided to take a quick look out my front door. Boy, was I ever surprised! We had two inches of snow on the ground. I knew we had been having light showers throughout the day and evening, but the snow was a real surprise. We continued the sleet, rain, hail, snow, and rain all day Monday, Tuesday, and a few showers today (Wednesday). It has felt (Cont. . .3)

            (Cont. . .3) colder this past week than it did most of the winter; and I haven't been able to get warm since the earlier part of last week. We are expected to have several days of 50F temperatures with sunshine; and then we're back to the cooler days of January. Most individuals have removed their snow tires already; and, unfortunately, they have needed them more this past week than they did the entire winter. It's been a very crazy winter and spring; and the USA has had it even worse than we have here in Canada. In addition to the blizzard-like conditions on the east coast, the mid-west has been dealing with numerous tornadoes. Some of the villages have been hit by the tornadoes several times; and in many instances, there is no town, home, (Cont. . .4)

              (Cont. . .4) property, or anything to which the people can return. Eventually assistance will arrive for these individuals; but there is a multitude of red tape and paper work that has to be filed first. Often it can take four to six months with all the unnecessary red tape. It appears from the news reports that parts of Europe have had the same catastrophic weather conditions as we've had here in North America. Hopefully the remainder of spring and summer will bring us lots of sunshine with gentle breezes, and an occasional shower or two. When I began this epistle to you, my dearest Manfred, I was beginning to have one of my horrific panic attacks. I just tried continuing to write to you; and the diversion worked. See (Cont. . .5)

                (Cont. . .5) what good therapy you are, my dear friend. "Thank you" is so inadequate when it comes to expressing my gratitude for what you just helped me through the past two hours.     All of you got quite sunburned during your biking journey this day. I hope it looks worse than it is; or some of you were going to be in a great deal of discomfort. Ever since my late teens, if I'm in the sun more than 30 minutes, I usually end up in the hospital's emergency room. I've even gotten blistered sitting in the shade with a tea shirt on for 30 minutes. Once again, I ended up in the emergency room; and in bed for a week. I also got a heat stroke from that experience. It doesn't make any difference how much suntan lotion, etc., I apply, I still end up being in agony for several days. I have to dress like a lil ole grey-haired lady that I am--bonnet, long-sleeve dress that goes to my ankles, etc. I definitely look like a comic valentine--but I don't get blistered any more. Please take gentle care of yourself, my dearest Manfred!

      Movement in the sunshine is joy of life for me. If I could not be in the sun,
      this would be a significant loss of my quality of life. My skin gets brown fast
      and then is relatively insensible against sunburn.

    My dearest Manfred--Because so many regions of Europe are mountainous and/or full of rocks, do they find it necessary to use dynamite to clear the land for building sights and/or farmland, etc.? This process often has to be performed here in Ottawa, as well as the surrounding areas because there are so many large boulders in our area.  In fact, when I had my back deck built, I thought they were going to have to use dynamite. Instead, they brought in a backhoe and spent several hours trying to remove one huge rock so they could install the appropriate posts and other supplies for my deck. Many of us homeowners who were not from Ontario and/or Canada never realized how rocky our soil was, nor how prone we were to earthquakes. I experienced my first earthquake about two years ago. It was frightening; and I hope I never have to go through another such experience. Once is more than enough!

      In my youth I did a holiday trip by the car. At night I slept in the car. One night I woke because somebody shook the car from the outside. With a dingbat I jumped out of the car. ...but there nobody was! 
      Few minutes later I heard by the car radio that there an earthquake had been.  :-)

    A very charming and clean town. And I can't believe there is no horrible graffiti scrawled over all the elegant buildings!!! Have the European governments and townships had enough of this filthy habit and put an end to it finally? I surely hope so. We watched for several years a great deal of the renovations in Prague. We were astounded when we'd return the following year to find so many of the freshly painted, beautiful buildings had become the targets once again of these barbaric individuals. Please tell me, dearest Manfred, that the townships and tax-paying, law-abiding citizens are taking back their streets, buildings, transportation, etc., and are no longer remaining silent about this expensive and degrading destruction of private and public property. You would, indeed, make me so very happy to hear this news.

    What a devine sight! With so many breathtaking views such as this one, it must have been difficult at times to continue your journey. I guess knowing around the next bend might be another view more spectacular than this one is what keeps all of you focused on the day's journey. I can see this hobby takes lots of self-control and discipline in order to remain focused.

    A delightful photograph of the peach trees, as well as the wild flowers. Mother Nature really did her best at arranging not only the colors, but the variety of wild flowers--Queen Anne's Lace, Dandelions, Miniature Violets, as well as two flowers I don't recognize. If you have allergies--especially in the spring--Queen Anne's Lace can be deadly. I used to love arranging vases of flowers with QAL until I developed an allergy to it. Nowadays, if I get within a block of the stuff, I go into an asthmatic attack.

      Yes, especially after the long gray winter, the rich coloring of the spring fascinates. 
      The peach-tree plantations decorate highly visible the scenery  :-))
