    Verona

Verona is a city at the Adige river in Veneto, Italy. Verona is not only the destination of the 1,200 kms bicycle marathon "Merselo -Verona" but also one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy, owing to its artistic heritage, such as ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans. Castel Vecchio is the most important military construction of the Scaliger dynasty that ruled the city in the Middle Ages.
The city has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO because of its urban structure and architecture.
