Yes dear Lara, but on the photo you see only the lower outer bailey. The main castle is not to see on the photo. It is behind on a higher hill.
The old castle is used as public house.

Yes, I like the combination between sunlight and trees shade too. By the leaves roof the light is interesting strewn and filtered.

Yes dear Lara, it is a nice place. The photo I shot from a 325m high hill of Wesergebirge. The Wesergebirge is a hill chain at the river Weser in the German states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

    Marktplatz Rinteln
(Cont. . .2) The rolling countryside and the huge farms stretching for miles were such a breathtaking sight. If you chose to open your windows as you traveled the autobahn, you quickly changed your mind. It truly was a "breathtaking" moment--since the farmers were applying not only the manure, but the urine as well. While this technique enriches the soil greatly, it surely isn't a pleasant odor to inhale for any length of time. I don't think this is done anymore in the States or in Canada. I've often wished I could have brought back some of that very rich soil so my flowers would be just as large and beautiful as those in Germany and the other countries. Flower boxes are very rarely seen in the USA or Canada--unless you are traveling in the deep south (i.e. New Orleans). With the beautiful styles of buildings, along with the breathtaking flower boxes, one feels like they are in a fairy tale.
Thanks for the trip down "memory lane" this morning, dearest Manfred.
    Luv ya!

    Hello Manfred. . .
I hope you are having a wonderful day in your little corner of the world.
The above photo is fantastic. I love the way you have captured the young girl as she studies the statue of the guard with much intrigue.

    Luv ya!

    Spaghetti-Eiscreme mit Früchten
Oh my! That looks absolutely devine! That fruit dish is large enough for two individuals. Seeing this has brought back some very fond memories of the delicious meals my darling John-Charles and I had on our various visits to Germany.
We always enjoyed the European style breakfasts with the various cheeses, cold meats, and assorted breads. Occasionally, I have fixed a similar assortment for breakfasts here at home; but it never tastes as good as it did when we were traveling throughout Europe.
One of my favorite German dishes is Sauerbraten. Whatever city we were visiting in Germany our first evening, we always had to find a restaurant that had this dish listed on its menu. I have fixed Sauerbraten several times here at home, but I would love to have a good recipe for this delectable meat dish. Do you happen to have a good recipe--one which is simple--for Sauerbraten you could share with me? I would be so delighted to have it.
See what you've started this early in the morning. LOL!
