In the north of "Sierra Alhalmila" is the "Sierra de los Filabres" with mountains over 2000 meters. The folded mountain slopes are mostly bare. In the little white mountain-villages often towers are visible from old Arabian castles.

Líjar is the smallest town in the Sierra de Los Filabres.
It is the fact, that the small town Líjar was 100 years long at war with France!
The reason was the injury suffered by King Alfonso XII during his visit in France in 1883. The young king returned from his visit in Germany, where the king had accepted the title of "Honorary Colonel" of a regiment of Uhlans stationed in Alsace. The young Spanish king was insulted and stoned by French citizens during this visit because of the Prussian uniform.
Líjar declared the war against France!
Luckily there were no major armed incidents and in 1983, after 100 years of war, peace was signed between Líjar and France.  :-)))

Yes dear Lena, I was also impressed because the scenery is completely different here than the usual surrounding at home.

      Yes properly!
The houses of the mountain villages are assembled on narrow space. Between the houses are only very narrow gaps.
