Plataforma Solar de Almeria

Die "Plataforma de Solar de Almeria" ist das größte europäische Zentrum für Forschung, Entwicklung und Test von Technologien mit konzentrierten Sonnenstrahlen.
Es wurde Anfang der 1980er Jahre gegründet, und es befindet sich am Rand der Tabernas-Wüste in der spanischen Provinz von Almería.
Mehr als 20.000 m² Spiegel sind auf 0.40 km² installiert. Es gibt mehrere Techniken, hauptsächlich Sonnenthermalkraftwerke, die unter praktischen Bedingungen getestet werden.

The "Plataforma Solar de Almeria" is the largest European center for research, development and testing of concentrating solar technologies.
It was founded in the early 1980s and its location is on the edge of the Tabernas Desert in the Spanish province of Almería.
Over 20,000 m² of mirrors are installed on a 0.40 km² site. There are several techniques tested under practical conditions, mainly solar thermal power plants.

Parabolic Dish with Stirling Motor

A dish/Stirling system consists of a wide-diameter parabolic mirror with a Stirling-type external combustion motor installed in its focal area. The parabolic dish-mirror continuously tracks the sun, so that the sun’s rays are reflected onto its focal plane, obtaining a Gaussian-shape concentrated solar energy map and several tens of kW.
