At the southern point of the peninsula "Capo de Gata" are several places of interest.
The watch-tower "Torre viglia" comes from the 18th century. Its 200-m-high coastal rock gives a breathtaking look out. The lighthouse "Faro de Capo de Gata" was built in 1863. The remains of a volcanic chimney form the reef "Arrecife de las Sirenas".

I'm pleased, dear Anna, that you notice the color of the water. I was fascinated to observe, how the shades-of-blue change as a function of the time of day or of the solar irradiation. :-)

Oh dear Olga, I am no specialist for the answer of this question :-|
The area Capo de Gata belongs to the driest areas of Europe. I suppose, that the rain clouds do empty in the high mountains. Thus the close desert Tabernas is enclosed on 3 sides by high mountains: Sierra Nevada, Sierra Alhamilla and Sierra de Los Filabres.

I'm sorry, dear Olga. I'm too stupid to answer the question. :-(

...I suppose, the humidity goes to Moscow, so that you can shoot artistic puddle photos. <*:o)
