Im Ruhrgebiet ist eine Strecke von Duisburg bis Hamm geplant. Dort kann man in Zukunft ca. 85 Kilometer mit dem Fahrrad entlang der A40 radeln. Am 27.11.2015 wurde ein zweites Teilstück des, inzwischen 101 Kilometer geplanten, Radschnellweges frei gegeben.

The fast bicycle way is crossing the Ruhr Metropolitan Region. In the Metropolitan Region is nearly so much motor traffic as in Moscow. In a satisfactory manner the bicycle way has no crosses with motor traffic roads. There are overpassings by bridges or undergrade crossing by tunnels. ...so you can overtake the motor traffic jam easily! :o)
