"Ostfalen-Brevet" ist ein Radmarathon mit einer Streckenlänge von 627 km und wird, wie der Name schon aussagt, als Brevet ausgeführt. Die Route führt auf einem Rundkurs vom Mittelgebirgszug Elm bis an die Ostsee und zurück. Der größte Teil der gut gewählten Strecke führt durch verkehrsarme ländliche Gebiete, wie dem Naturpark entlang der Elbe und der Mecklenburgischen Seen- und Hügellandschaft. Die Route führt an zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten vorbei und der Wendepunkt Kühlungsborn ist ein Ostseebadeort mit dem Flair der Jahrhundertwende. Leider ließ der Marathon nicht genügend Zeit zur Besichtigung der Attraktivitäten, und Manfred erreichte die Ostsee in nebeliger Nacht. Also wird Manfred die Route noch einmal radeln, ...als Sightseeing-Tour ohne Marathon-Zeitdruck! :-)
Manfred und 40 der teilgenommenen 49 Radler beendeten den Marathon erfolgreich.

"Ostfalen-Brevet" (Eastphalia-brevet) is a cycling marathon with a route length of 627 km, running as a brevet, as the name already says. The route runs on a circular course from the low mountain range Elm to the Baltic Sea and back. Most of the well selected route passes through low-traffic rural areas, such as the nature park along the river Elbe and the Mecklenburg lakes and hills scenery. The route passes numerous sights and the turning point is Kuehlungsborn, a Baltic bathing resort with the flair of the turn of the century. Unfortunately, the marathon did not give enough time to visit the attractions, and Manfred reached the Baltic Sea in foggy night. So Manfred will bike the route once again, ...as a sightseeing tour without time pressure of a marathon! :-)
Manfred and 40 of the 49 participating cyclists finished the marathon successfully.

„De Acht van Lohne“ ist ein Radmarathon über eine Streckenlänge von 600 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird. Die Route hat die Form einer Acht (daher der Name). Start, Ziel, sowie die 300km-Kontrollstelle ist der Ort Lohne. Der erste Kreis der Acht führt durch die Niederlande, der zweite Kreis durch Deutschland.
Dieses Mal gab es 'ne Menge Wetter: Sonne gelegentlich, Wind reichlich, Regen satt und Hagelkörner erbsengroß!

„De Acht van Lohne“ is a cycling marathon with a route length of 600 km, running as a brevet. The route has the shape of the figure eight. (thus the name -> acht=eight). Start, finish, and the 300km-control-point is the place Lohne. The first circle of the eight leads through the Netherlands, the second circle through Germany.
This time there was plenty of weather: the sun now and then, wind richly, rain full and hailstones size of peas!

"Möhnesee" ist ein Radmarathon über eine Streckenlänge von 400 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird. Der Streckenverlauf führt durch südliches Emsland, Teutoburger Wald, Osnabrücker Land und Münsterland. Nach der Überfahrt der Möhnesee-Talsperre im Sauerland geht die Route durch den Arnsberger Wald wieder zurück ins Emsland.

"Möhnesee" (Moehne Reservoir) is a cycling marathon with a route length of 400 km, running as a brevet. The routing leads through southern Emsland, Teutoburg Forest, Osnabrück Land and Münsterland. After crossing of the Moehne Reservoir in Sauerland the route goes through the Arnsberg Forest back into the Emsland.

"Grachtentour" ist ein Radmarathon über eine Streckenlänge von 300 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird. Die feuchte und windige Radltour führte durch die deutsche Grafschaft Bentheim und durch die Province Overijssel in den Niederlanden.

"Grachtentour" (Canal tour) is a cycling marathon with a route length of 300 km, running as a brevet. The humid and windy bicycle tour led through the German county Bentheim and through the Province Overijssel of the Netherlands.

„Door de mooie Maasvallei“ (Durch's schöne Maastal) ist ein Radmarathon über eine Streckenlänge von 200 km, der als Brevet ausgeführt wird.
In diesem Jahr starteten 170 Radler im deutschen Ort Twisteden. Die windige aber sonnige Radltour führte durch die niederländischen Provinzen Limburg und Nordbrabant.

This year 170 cyclists started in the German village Twisteden. The windy however sunny cycling tour led through the Dutch provinces Limburg and North Brabant.

Die Stadt Kevelaer liegt am Niederrhein im Nordwesten des Bundeslandes Nordrhein-Westfalen. Kevelaer ist in kultureller und touristischer Hinsicht interessant und bekannt als bedeutender Marienwallfahrtsort. Im autofreien Zentrum der Stadt liegt der Kapellenplatz mit der Gnadenkapelle, der Marienbasilika, der Kerzenkapelle und der Beichtkapelle. In der Fußgängerzone um den Kapellenplatz befinden sich zahlreiche Cafés und Restaurants. Der Ortsteil Twisteden ist Startort von Randonneur-Brevets.

The town of Kevelaer is located on the lower Rhine in the Northwest of the German State North Rhine-Westphalia. Kevelaer is interesting in cultural and tourist terms and known as important pilgrimage place. In the car-free city-center is the Chapels Square with Grace Chapel, Mary's Basilica, Candle Chapel and Confession Chapel. In the traffic-free environment around the Chapels Square are numerous cafés and restaurants. The village of Twisteden is part of Kevelaer and is starting point of randonneur-brevets.
