    Plattfuss!

      This is my winter bicycle.

All summer long it has to stand in the shed. It waits always longingly for the winter. In the winter it is glad to be moved. It is happy that it may carry me through the snow-covered scenery. :-))

...and I am happy too  :-)))

    Wow, such a snowy bike!
Bike will be need to clean for a long time after the ride ... and during the ride.
But what do if chain will freeze during the ride?

The chain is not the main problem. I have in winter always a spray can with  penetrating-oil in the backpack. :-)
A big problem is humidity in the wheel hub. Then the pawl elements of the free-wheeling are freezing up! A power transmission from the chain to the rear wheel is then not possible any more. It helps only, to lubricate the hub with nonhardening-oil beforehand and to renew the hub's seals on occasion!

How great is that you can drive on snow with thin tires!
When I rode yesterday on our roads, I realized that I needed - I need the tires of the same width as a motorcycle:)))

The relatively narrow tyres do not go onto the snow surface. The narrow tyres deeply sag into the snow and the spikes generate good grip.
This works very well, as long as the snow is not so high that the pedals dive into the snow. :-))

    Heimwärts, nach einem langem Arbeitstag...
What a fascinating and breathtaking optical illusion--simply from the reflection of a light on the rear wheel of your bike. This was one of those delightful captures waiting to be discovered. Love it!

    Luv ya!

    Surrealistic painting.

      Yes, exactly :-D
The rear light of my WinterCrosser paints the colourless snow, which adheres to the rear wheel, artfully surrealistic in deep red colour :-D

Kann man damit auch über Glatteis fahren?!
    So etwas bräuchte ich!

      Hallo David,
