Schloss Hohenschwangau

The castle Hohenschwangau lies directly towards the castle Neuschwanstein in municipality Schwangau in Bavaria, Germany. For the first time the castle was mentioned in the 12th century as a castle Schwanstein. During the following centuries the owners changed, the castle went to ruin, was anew built up and destroyed again. In 1832 King Maximilian II acquired the ruins and let convert them in the style of the New Gothic till 1837 in the today's state.
