Manfred's zerplatzter Giro Eclipse

Auf dem Weg zur Arbeit wurde Manfred 2003 auf dem Radweg von einem PKW angefahren. Er flog über den PKW und schlug in 12m Entfernung mit dem Kopf auf die Dachkante eines geparkten Geländewagens auf - Fahrrad Totalschaden, Helm zerplatzt.
Ohne Helm hätte Manfred's Hirnschale den Einschlag sicherlich nicht überstanden. Dieses Fotoalbum würde es nicht geben.

    Everything happened because of the glands in the previous photo?

      No, dear Olga, this accident wasn't caused by the axle glands in the previous photo. On the cycle track to my office I was hit by a car. I flew over the car and at 12 m of distance I struck with my head on the roof edge of a parked cross-country vehicle - bicycle total loss - helmet burst. Without helmet I would not have survived the impact. There would not be this photo album :-)
      Udo Bölts is a German professional racing cyclist. He said the sentence: “One can buy a new helmet, but not a new head!”

          My brainpan has remained whole. Whether has my brain been damaged?
          I believe, before the accident I was already mad just like today :o)
